One of my favourite things to do before the start of the NFL season is to make predictions. Everyone on all of the media networks do it because it’s a fun way to just put your cards on the table, so that if it does go the way you think, you can brag about it. I’m going to do my Division winners, Wildcard teams, Conference champs and then Super Bowl winner. I’ll also do a quickfire round of awards.
For the record, I sucked at picking division winners last year, but I did have the Chiefs as SB winners, Mahomes as SB MVP, Nick Bosa as DPoY and Saquon Barkley as CBPoY so I didn’t do too badly. Right, let’s start with the NFC:
NFC North
Bears
Vikings
Packers
Lions – Winners
NFC East
Cowboys – Winners
Eagles – Wildcard
Giants – Wildcard
Commanders
NFC South
Bucs
Falcons
Panthers
Saints – Winners
NFC West
49ers – Winners
Seahawks – Wildcard
Rams
Cardinals
NFC Champion – Cowboys
This would be one of the worst things to happen, but I just expect them to have an excellent year. The Eagles would be my second pick, but the Cowboys will have to get over the hump at some point, and I just expect it to be this year.
AFC North
Bengals – Wildcard
Ravens – Winners
Steelers – Wildcard
Browns
AFC East
Patriots
Bills – Winners
Dolphins
Jets
AFC South
Jaguars – Winners
Colts
Texans
Titans
AFC West
Chiefs – Winners
Chargers – Wildcard
Broncos
Raiders
AFC Champions – Chiefs
I know it’s not an original pick and I’m not going out on a limb, but Mahomes is the best QB in the league, Reid is the best Coach in the league and there is a lot to be said for experience when it comes to Super Bowl experience. It won’t phase them getting close, and I think they will cope with the pressure better than everyone else.
Super Bowl Champion – Chiefs
Super Bowl MVP – Mahomes
It worked for me last year, so let’s see if we can replicate it. Now it’s time for the quickfire awards:
MVP – Mahomes
OPoY – Cee Dee Lamb
DPoY – Micah Parsons
ORoY – Bijan Robinson
DRoY – Christian Gonzalez
CoY – Dan Campbell
CBPoY – Damar Hamlin
Another year, another long list of predictions with a few surprises in there. If Cee Dee Lamb wins OPoY then I will be taking one hell of a victory lap as I haven’t seen anyone else pick him, but if I think the Cowboys are going to be going to the Super Bowl, he has to ball out! Let’s hope I’m wrong and the Cowboys finish 5-11.
Screw the Cowboys!
